This project reviewed the current digital experience of BOM forecasters and the outcomes of the research informed the Public Safety Transformation roadmap. The aim was to understand tools, programs and processes so that solutions could be explored on how to simplify the process and help forecasters to focus their time and effort where it was needed most based on the expected weather impacts and official advice given to the public and media.
Project context:
1. Investigate the current forecaster experience with visual, spatial and communicational tools that are needed to get the job done.
2. Deliver digital principles for forecaster tools that will guide business requirements.
3. Workshop outcomes to inform and guide related program work.
4. Employee personas who have various different roles and software access to better understand the needed software ecosystem.
UX methods applied:
- 12 Shadow interviews with forecasters in Adelaide and Melbourne offices
- 5 Stakeholder interviews
