We don’t start with AI

We start with you, your business and the outcome you need.

You might want to improve a workflow, customer journey or website, create a brand or presentation, or explore an idea that is still taking shape.

A conductor bringing together content, customer experience, systems, automation and business outcomes.

We begin with a focused conversation and the material you already have. From there, I work out what should be simplified, connected, redesigned, created, automated or deliberately kept human.

The FSD approach

A practical process, shaped around what you need.

You may be fixing a workflow, improving a customer journey, shaping a new business or creating a website, brand or service. I do not put every project through a lengthy discovery process.

We agree on the smallest useful scope, build on what you already know and move into practical action as quickly as possible. You may need one part of this approach or several.

Depending on the scope, you might leave with a clear priority, an improved workflow, a mapped journey, a prototype, brand direction, a website plan or practical support to implement the work.

Understand

Start with the people, the business or idea, and what you’re trying to achieve.

This might include:

  • Focused conversations
  • Reviewing existing materials and research
  • Understanding customers and current ways of working
  • Exploring ideas and ambitions

Explore the opportunity

Understand what’s getting in the way, what’s missing and where there is potential to create something better.

This might include:

  • Finding friction, gaps and wasted effort
  • Exploring the audience and unmet need
  • Mapping journeys and opportunities
  • Considering what an idea could become

Design a better way

Shape the improvement or new creation that best fits the need.

This might include:

  • Simplifying a process or redesigning a customer journey
  • Shaping a new service or offer
  • Developing a brand, digital experience, content or visual assets
  • Working out where technology could genuinely help

Enable and improve

Bring the solution to life using the right mix of design, technology, tools and specialist support, then learn from how it works in the real world.

This might include:

  • Automation, websites and connected systems
  • Visual identities, printed material and new offers
  • Customer experiences and practical implementation
  • Coordinating specialist suppliers or collaborators
Choosing what will help

The answer isn’t always what you expected when you started.

The most useful answer may be different from the first request. A website issue may begin in the enquiry process. A content problem may need a reusable system. A new service may need clearer positioning before it needs a brand.

Free Soul Design does not begin by selling a website, logo, automation or AI tool. I work with you to define the useful outcome, then choose the smallest combination of design, content, technology and specialist support needed to achieve it.

Responsible integration

New doesn’t automatically mean better. Technology is considered with the same care as the rest of the work. Privacy, security, transparency and human oversight are built into the decision. The detailed principles sit on the Responsible Design page.

Practical examples

What this could look like in your business.

Real business problems rarely belong to one system or one service. These examples show how we might bring the right pieces together around a recognisable problem.

Connecting the sales journey

The situation

Enquiries arrive through different channels, follow-up depends on memory, customer details are entered more than once and it is difficult to see where opportunities are being lost.

What we might do
  • Map the journey from first enquiry to completed sale
  • Connect forms, email, CRM, quoting and follow-up
  • Remove duplicate data entry
  • Create useful reminders and simple automation
  • Improve visibility across the sales pipeline
  • Keep personal conversations where they matter
The result

A clearer sales process, more consistent follow-up and fewer opportunities falling through the gaps.

Bringing a new business idea to life

The situation

A business owner has an idea for a new service or business but isn’t yet sure what it should become, how to position it or what they actually need to create.

What we might do
  • Explore the idea and audience
  • Shape the proposition
  • Work out what the experience needs to be
  • Develop the brand and communication
  • Create the website or supporting materials
  • Bring in the right tools or specialist support where needed
The result

An idea moves from something imagined to something people can understand, experience and use.

These examples combine challenges commonly found in small businesses. Every engagement is shaped around what the business actually needs.
